AT/ALL is a Melbourne-based electronic trio featuring Pascal Babare, Matthew Nicholson, and Lucy Roleff. It began life as a collaboration between old friends Pascal and Matthew, who first began making music together in the leafy suburbs of Melbourne around the turn of the century. The early sounds landed somewhere between NZ-inspired jangle-pop and warm noise; as they each grew into their own solo projects – both hard to classify clutches of experimental pop – they kept writing parts on each other’s records, in tiny Japanese bedrooms and Polish villages. Meanwhile, drifting between Melbourne and Berlin, classically trained Lucy - the multi-instrumentalist daughter of a German opera singer - was developing her own style of intricate, literary, crazy beautiful folk songs. In 2014, finding themselves living in Melbourne together for the first time in over a decade, Matthew and Pascal started to bring musical ideas to each other, alongside their new friend and new favourite singer, Lucy. Deconstructing, re-imagining, and fucking up each other's ideas became the basis for AT/ALL's songwriting process, the end result being their debut LP, SUN DOG.
SUN DOG will be released internationally on August 29th, 2016.
